We are not influenced by our surroundings since we do not understand much yet and so we are born as our authentic self. Once we start growing and are more aware of what's happening around us we start to mirror our behaviours based on what we see. We start exploring the world and are not afraid of as many things as adults.  The people that we surround ourselves with help to influence our movements and behaviours which we navigate based on their guidance. These people can be our parents, grandparents, siblings, teachers and peers. They try to teach us to the best of their ability and usually with good intenti...

Photo by Lina Trochez on Unsplash Learning to live in the present moment can be summed up well in a book I read which I will highlight here "If you can rejoice in this moment, you will be able to rejoice more in the coming moment because you will become more and more expert in rejoicing, in dancing, in singing. And you will become more and more confident about yourself - that you need not be somebody else. Whoever you are, you are capable of enjoying the ultimate ecstasy without being rich, without being in power, without being world famous, without being a celebrity."   You can be just a nobody and yet all the treasures of existence can be yours - because they are not outside you. The contrary voice which often times interrupts our thoughts is the opposite side of spirituality which can sometimes lead us to do things which are less than kind. Having an awareness is essential that this spiritual side exists and is the higher consciousness that we truly seek. We create thoughts that build an energy field...

Photo by F. Plastino  I stumbled onto this great book in which this quote stuck with me regarding relationships "The power of love is found most in its triumph over fear. Where fear prevails, love is not. Given the ubiquity of fear, the move to love is a considerable challenge. Only those who can face their fears, live with ambiguity and ambivalence, can find that personal empowerment which then makes possible love of the Other." Above quote taken from the book " The Eden Project. In search of the Magical Other " page 73 by author James Hollis P.H.D  I am no relationship expert but what I gather from the text above is that fear traps us in our past conditioning which makes relationships with anyone, including our significant other, very difficult. Letting go of those fears allows us to shut down the voice in our heads keeping us captured in our old way of thinking and be be...
