A Spiritual Halloween

“Trick or treat, bag of sweets, ghosts are walking down the street.”

π Trick or Treat: The Sweet Side of Spirits and Spirituality π»
π¬ What a fun little rhyme above — part spooky, part silly, and entirely to the spirit of Halloween! Every October, the air feels a little more chilly and magical. Pumpkins glow across the streets like fiery smiles, costumes bring imagination to life, and candy becomes a form of temporary currency for kids (and some adults as well π«). But beneath the sugar rush and skeleton dΓ©cor, Halloween gives us deeper lessons about life, death, and the unseen world around us.
Let’s unwrap the spiritual treat behind the tricks. π

In a sense, rather than making us fear the mystery of life and death, Halloween invites us to dance with it. It's a lighthearted homage to the spiritual reality that although life is short, the spirit endures forever. π«
And what about those ghosts “walking down the street”? Maybe they remind us that we all carry a few “ghosts” —like old habits, regrets, or memories that haunt us. Halloween really gives us permission to laugh at them! When we truly face our inner monsters, they lose their power. As Carl Jung once said, “One does not become enlightened by imagining figures of light, but by making the darkness conscious.” π✨
Wearing a costume alone teaches us something profound: we are not restricted to a single identity. We are Consciousness. We can be audacious, imaginative, and enigmatic. Putting on a mask can sometimes help us remove one from within. Halloween is a spiritual masquerade where we can joyfully and safely explore secret aspects of ourselves, which may be why it feels so liberating. π
