Brain Quote of the Week

"When the standard of success becomes merely acting- when any result is regarded as progress and important, when inspiration is seen as a reward rather than a prerequisite - we propel ourselves ahead. We feel free to fail, and that failure moves us forward."
Above quote taken from the book The Subtle Art of not giving a F*CK, page 156 by author Mark Manson
This statement comes from a great book I read which emphasizes a paradigm shift in defining success, and focusing on the process rather than solely on outcomes. The wisdom I gained learning of success is that it is redefined as the act of doing. Every step taken in life is considered progress, regardless of the immediate result. By esteeming the act of engaging, seeking inspiration, and learning over fixating on achievements, we as individuals liberate ourselves from the fear of failure.
Embracing failure is hard but it is a stepping stone to cultivating resilience and innovation. When failure is viewed as a conduit for growth, it propels individuals forward by providing invaluable lessons and insights. This brilliant mindset shift fosters a sense of freedom, encouraging risk-taking and experimentation. In doing so, people become less daunted by setbacks, as each failure is perceived more as a contributor to advancement, which then ultimately propels personal and professional development.
In essence, we can start to value the process, welcoming failure as a means of progress. Stop looking in the rear view mirror and always move forward with momentum. This is a wonderful mindset to apply in daily life as it nurtures continuous improvement.
