Brain Quote of the Week
I got to spend some time last year at a silent meditation retreat hosted by Andy James who also runs one of the largest Tai Chi and meditation teaching organizations in Toronto, Canada. I was fortunate enough to read his book which is the focus of today's words of wisdom.
"In the long run, we cannot avoid dealing with ourselves. Sooner or later, in spite of our ego's desire to feel in control, life's painful lessons will bring us all back to the need for the resolution of our conflicts, to the need for real change. Sooner resolution is better than later, because the destructive energies inside us accumulate. If they reach the point of explosion or disintegration, it may be too late. The conflict and pain are already there. Meditation does not create them but only brings them to consciousness so that we can release them."
