If you talk more, you not only deprive yourself  of many opportunities to accumulate useful knowledge, but you also disclose your plans and purposes to people who will take great delight in defeating you because they envy you."              "Remember, also, that every time you open your mouth in the presence of a person who has an abundance of knowledge, you display to that person, your exact stock of knowledge, or your lack of it!" Above quote referenced from the book Think and Grow Rich , page 135 by author Napoleon Hill Thinking about the knowledge we possess before speaking is essential for effective communication. Fir...

Photo by William Felipe Seccon In this fast-paced world we live in, making decisions can be a daunting task. Whether it's choosing between career opportunities, making financial investments, or making family plans, we are constantly faced with choices that can have a significant impact on our lives. That is where the Ten-Ten-Ten Rule of decision making comes into play. This very straight-forward approach can help us make more thoughtful and well-rounded decisions.  What is the Ten-Ten-Ten Rule? The Ten-Ten-Ten Rule, popularized by entrepreneur and author Suzy Welch, is a decision-making framework that encourages individuals to consider the consequences of their choices over three different times frames: Ten minutes, 10 months, and 10 years. So how does it work? 10 Minutes: ...

Inspirational Quote of the Day

Image
Photo by F. Plastino   "The pessimist complains about the wind. The optimist expects it to change. The leader adjusts the sails."                                John Maxwell  This quote highlights three different attitudes towards challenges in life. The pessimist tends to focus on complaints and negativity, often dwelling on problems like the wind. The optimist, on the other hand, maintains a positive outlook and anticipates change, believing the wind will eventually shift. However, the leader stands out by taking proactive action. Instead of passively waiting for change, they adapt and adjust their approach, symbolized by adjusting the sails of a ship. This reflects the leader's ability to navigate challenges and steer towards their goals, demonstrating resilience and leadership in the face of adversity. Be that leader today and watch h...

Brain Quote of the Week

Image
Photo by F. Plastino   "Take a good, hard look at your environment. Your thoughts are shaped by the people you associate with, by the books you read, by the words you speak and by your daily physical surroundings. Are you spending your time at work with negative people? If so, they will eventually make you negative and cynical. Are you watching violent TV shows and mindless videos at home? If so, your mind will grow restless and noisy. Is the space you work in bright, colorful and inspiring? Over the coming weeks, take steps to make the environment you work and live in a better one. You will quickly detect improvements in the way you think, feel and act." Above quote taken from the book Who will Cry when you Die page 124 by author Robin Sharma   Thanks for reading.                           Photo by F. Plastino  "Accept Life as it is and then Freedom Begins."  Nat Plastino. My personal quote. This idea emphasizes the profound connection between acceptance and personal liberation. By acknowledging and embracing the realities of one's existence, individuals can break free from the shackles of resistance and denial. Acceptance serves as the catalyst for inner peace and empowerment. When we cease to fight against the natural flow of life and its inevitable challenges, we unlock the potential for true freedom. This freedom transcends external constraints, fostering resilience and an authentic sense of self. Untimately, embracing acceptance is the gateway to a liberated, fulfilled existence. Rethink Confirmation Bias

Image
Photo by Markus Winkler People have different perspectives to how they view certain topics and ideas. The idea pertaining to Confirmation Bias is the tendency to look for, interpret and recall information that maintains our preconception. Whenever we come across objective facts on an issue we look at them from the viewpoint that was conditioned from our own beliefs. This so called bias becomes strongest when we look at issues that bring up deep emotions in us where we desire certain outcomes that are best in our favor. "One way or another we are all biased, but still we have the modern cortical capacity to choose whether or not to let the harmful biases dictate our behaviour."                        ...

Photo by Greg Rakozy "I believe our futures are only probable - in other words, what might happen as opposed to what will happen. Depending on the soul's spiritual needs, data received via the universal consciousness will either be denied or severely restricted. Perhaps a superior wisdom has imposed unalterable safeguards or data flow limitations that appear to work in our own best interest. The amount of data we can access may be governed by the impact it will have on our Earth life experience."  Above quote taken from the book Soul Traveler, page 85 by author Albert Taylor What I take from this is basically when we dream our subconscious mind comes alive. We get clues from the universal intelligence and it is our job whether we want to listen to it or ignore it. These clues or ...
